Watt to read..

I can't seem to find anything I want to read, it's like I'm having a reading block! So it seems I've resorted back to Wattpad, never heard of it? It's a place were up and coming writers or people that just enjoy to write can share their work and trust me someone if it is amazing and some of it isn't the best! But i enjoy reading other peoples work and reading the bizarre and wonderful ideas of today's youth and of course the more maturer residence of Wattpad.
Wattpad encourages the freedom to share anything from poems to screenplays, novels to diaries it really is a great insight into what's current with teens and the general public. Which can also be really useful for those of you who are writing a novel and are wondering if it is right for the current market, due to the 'most popular' section onWattpad you can learn what everyone is reading and whether that applies to yourself.
So, using Wattpad when I don't have other books to read is so convenient because there's a range of genre's to choose from and most writers don't mind the criticism as long as it's constructed obviously!

So go on give it a go! :)
Thanks for reading!

Bridget Jones Mad about the Boy

It was a thoroughly enjoyable read!

Anyone can instantly connect with Bridget in this book, I've never read the first book 'Bridget Jones' Diary' by Helen Fielding. Although I have seen the films, Bridget Jones' Diary and The Edge of Reason I know it's not the same but they're brilliant films! I do wish I had and I may even go back and read it. Bridget's voice comes through in a comically and melancholy way through the use of diary entries and flashbacks. It's particularly authentic that the diary entries use contractions, taboos and abbreviations and the lack of perfect grammar gives the book an amazing edge. It almost feels like you know Bridget, you instantly spark a connection and relate to so many things she describes even if she is over 50 in this novel. She struggles with love, loss and single parenting disasters! I myself am a single non parent of 20 years of age so relating to a 50+ woman with 2 small children and with troubles of loss and heart ache was a real surprise to me for me to be agreeing and completely understanding some of the emotions and conundrums she encounters!
It well and truly is the perfect summer read for those of you that will be jetting away to beautiful sandy beaches! As well as those of you who will (hopefully) enjoy the English weather! OR in all fairness where ever you are, it was a really good read and because it was so modern and related to events of the time that I knew about which was really refreshing.
Now I just need something else to get my teeth or should i say eyes into! Any recommendations gals and guys would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for reading,
Megan :) x

Bridget is back..

Recently started reading the new Bridget Jones about a boy, and it's hilariously heartwarming, typical Bridgetisms. I really love the style of this book, it's short hand, almost notes sometimes, but you completely understand what is being said. I really cannot wait to get to the end of this book! But then I'm going to be a little bit sad when it's over! Even though she's a little older in this book I feel like i can relate to her melt downs it's so bizarre considering I'm a single 20 year old at university, but it really opened my mind to the what if's of life. I LOVE IT.

I also absolutely loved this quote on the back! I haven't gotten to her drunken texting antics yet but I cannot wait! it's honestly a good read so far and a little bit of a tear jerker and I haven't even read it all yet!

An absolute must read this summer from my point of view!
